Dear valued Patients of Romeo Optometry,
We are pleased to let you know that the Ministry of Health has removed the restriction on the practice of Optometry in Ontario and is allowing a gradual reopening of in-office eye care. Romeo Optometry will begin to see patients in our clinic on Monday June 1, 2020.
As instructed by the Ministry, we will be prioritizing patients based on clinical need. To that end, all of the cancelled patients from the last 11 weeks have been triaged into level 1, 2 or 3 and will be rebooked accordingly. Routine eye care for patients without eye problems will be deferred , especially in high COVID risk patients.
The priority at our clinic is the safety and comfort of our patients, staff and doctors.
The steps we are taking to reduce the risk of
COVID 19 include:
Social distancing measures such as waiting room chairs spaced 6 feet apart
Mandatory face masks for all patients, face masks and eye protection for staff
Hand sanitizer stations throughout the office, mandatory at the office door
Staff and doctors must wash their hands before and after every patient encounter
Frequent disinfection of common spaces and high touch surfaces
Thorough disinfection of the exam room between each patient
Disinfection of every frame tried on by a patient
Temperature checks and COVID Screening for all patients, doctors and staff
Only 2 doctors seeing patients at a time with appointments spaced further apart
Control of the number of patients in the office at one time.
Tele-Optometry services will be used where possible
No patient will be seen without an appointment for clinical or dispensing (eyeglass) services.

We ask for your patience due to an expected high volume of calls. All messages will be answered. (You may drop in without an appointment to purchase products or pick up contact lenses.)
